More Guitarists Join The Ranks – Pearl Jam, The Who, Train, And More…

Stone Gossard, Jon Button, And Hector Maldonado Add Origin Effects Pedals to their Pedalboards

We’ve had a flood of new artists land on our doorstep recently including guitarists from Pearl Jam, Everything Everything, Train, The Who, and State Champs to name just a few. It’s always great to see guitarists including our effects pedals in their rig, especially when they’re in bands that we love!We stumbled upon some very cool news this week – Pearl Jam guitarist, Stone Gossard, was spotted using an Origin Effects SlideRIG at their concert in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

We regularly browse Equipboard to discover what gear our favourite artists use – we were checking what gear Pearl Jam use to get their fat, yet articulate sound, and spotted a photo of Stone’s pedalboard with a SlideRIG comp taking pride of place!Hector Maldonado, bassist with San Francisco’s Grammy Award-winning roots rock band, Train, contacted us in need of a compressor for their upcoming tour. We were more than happy to oblige and pointed Hector towards the Cali76 Compact Bass, which should be perfect for recreating the studio-quality bass tones heard on tracks such as “Drops of Jupiter” and “Hey, Soul Sister”.On a busy Friday in March we were pleasantly surprised to receive an email from Michael Kaye, guitar tech for The Who. Michael informed us that Pino Palladino and his Cali76 have moved on to perform with John Mayer this year and his replacement on bass, Jon Button, is using an Origin Effects compressor pedal too!

He said that “Jon Button played his 1st Who show at RAH last night- (The Cali76-CB) worked out really well.” and gave us a link to The Who’s blog with some shots of Jon’s pedalboard.Critically acclaimed British Indie band, Everything Everything, have been hooked up with a compressor pedal for their guitar, Alex Robertshaw. We look forward to seeing his board!Although Daniel Steinhardt has been using our Cali76 Compact Deluxe compressor for almost a year now, we’ve only just added him to our website! As well as being the guitarist for Tin Spirits, Dan fronts That Pedal Show with Mick Taylor. If you haven’t watched That Pedal Show then what are you doing?! Head over to their YouTube channel now and watch an episode or ten!State Champs is an American pop punk band from Albany, New York, formed in 2010. Their bassist, Ryan Scott Graham, was in need of some low-end control so has taken command of a Cali76-CB. Ryan’s happy with his choice of stompbox compressor! We’ve also had sightings of Origin Effects pedals on the boards of Konstantine Margaritis and Ian Haug of Powderfinger. Check out who else uses our pedals on our artists page.
