We Made It To NAMM Along With Some New Pedals!

Check Out Our New Releases Alongside Some Old Favourites

Our first NAMM show. What a rollercoaster ride!

Simon and the team have spent many caffeine-fuelled days and nights constructing an engaging rig, allowing attendees to trial the full Origin Effects range in a “dream rig” scenario.

At the flick of a switch, you can experience the versatility of the RevivalDRIVE through a range different amplifiers, and compare our range of high-end pedals to the vintage classics that inspired their development… Anyone for blind testing? We’re looking forward to getting people involved in our interactive demo, and demonstrating just how good our Cali76 and RevivalDRIVE pedals are.

Whilst at NAMM we’ll be taking the opportunity to introduce a few new pedals to the guitar community. The Cali76 Stacked Edition squeezes two Cali76s into one compact enclosure. With independent Attack/Release, and gain controls, the pedal delivers multiple styles of compression simultaneously, for combined dynamic polishing and peak limiting. An updated version of the SlideRIG Compact Deluxe allows further refinement of the infamous dual-chained slide tone. If all of this wasn’t enough, Simon is bringing along a prototype compact version of the RevivalDRIVE which offers a taste of its big brother’s sound with streamlined features and a simplified control layout! All of these new additions will be available to try alongside the current line of pedals via our interactive rig.

For those of you who are lucky enough to be attending the Winter NAMM Show, you will be able to find us in Hall D at Booth #3734 with our friends from Victory Amplifiers. We look forward to meeting you there!

Hello – any idea when the streamlined version of the Revival Drive will be available and at what cost. I have been wanting to get this pedal but the big version is just too much. Thank you !

    Hello,

this is Ilias from Greece. I am intersted in the Revival Drive compact you announced in this NAMM.
Will this one feature the tube rectifier side, solid state side or have both as an option? Any idea about release date and price?

    Thanks,
    Ilias

      Hello, Ilias.

Thanks for your comment and interest in the RevivalDRIVE Compact.

We expect it to be released this Summer. We are still working on the pricing but expect it to be around the price of the Cali76-CD.

In its current form, the rectifier type is a cross between silicon and valve. We’ve found that this provides a satisfying feel under the fingers.

We hope to have some more information available soon.

Hi – just wondering if the Revival Drive for bass is a real thing, and if so, when you expect it to become available. Thanks !

      Hi, Josh.

We have had a really busy year with a relocation and big trade shows including NAMM. We’re set to refocus on product development now and I’m happy to say that the Cali76 Compact Bass is in the research stage. We have procured some vintage bass amps to get started but at this stage, it’s difficult to provide an accurate time-scale as we don’t know what we will discover when examining what makes these amps so great!

      Stay tuned!

So what is the deal with the rebranding of the Cali76 Stacked Edition and SlideRIG Compact Deluxe? Are they not the same thing in concept? Why buy one over the other? Strange re-branding to keep the product line sales moving. Is the Cali76 CD somehow now made “inferior” to the Cali 76 Stacked? Did you just make our Cali76 CD’s obsolete? Please provide more detail was what the executives were thinking. We love your quality, will always have an OE product on our boards, but what’s happening here? i.e. throw us a bone, please.

I need to know the difference between the Cali76 CD and the Cali76 Stacked. Why have one over the other? Details details details! I own the Cali76CD, it is indispensable to my rig and now you throw this out. I need to know what I missing by not switching it out to the Cali76 Stacked.

    Cheers,

      Hi, Mod Music!

The Stacked Edition kind of bridges the gap between the Cali76-CD and the SlideRIG-CD in that it has 2 compressor stages (like the SlideRIG) but you have flexibility over each comp stage more akin to the Cali76-CD. The SlideRIG-CD’s controls are limited to allow easy access to settings that sound great with slide guitar. Because the Stacked Edition allows more control over each compression stage, it can be set in a variety of different ways that are useful for more than slide players. For example, it can be set to limit peaks and raise dynamic nuances, to add sustain whilst letting transients pop, as well as achieving “SlideRIG sustain” by maxing out the controls!

As to what the excecutives were thinking; the SlideRIG is very fun when playing without a slide and can be described as a “clean overdrive”. However, most customers dismissed the SlideRIG as just being for slide guitarists so we wanted to see what could be changed to expand the appeal of the SlideRIG. In the typical Origin Effects way, we drew from classic studio practices and saw how the technique of stacking compressors to achieve different tasks could be obtained with some modification to the SlideRIG circuit.

We will publish a lot more information nearer the release date so stay tuned!

When is this stacked version coming and what’s the price point? I was really looking at getting either the Cali76 or slideRIG, but leaning toward slideRIG. (FYI I don’t play slide). But I might just wait for this stacked version.

      Hi David!

The Stacked Edition will be coming out very soon… be sure to follow our social media channels and check back here for updates. As for prices points, around £329. The Stacked Edition would be a great way of achieving the best of both Cali76 & SlideRIG sounds!
