Origin effects Artist Joshua Grange Performs Awe Inspiring Show with Lera Lynn
Last night we were invited by Joshua Grange, Nashville guitarist and session player extraordinaire, to come down and watch Lera Lynn perform at The Bullingdon in Oxford.
Joshua has recorded guitar for and toured with a lot of well regarded players such as Sheryl Crow, Robert Randolph, and KD Lang and has also produced albums including both of Lera Lynn’s releases.
Born in Texas and raised in Georgia, Lera’s style of Post-Americana has an honest power which could only derive from the Southern States.To say that it was warm in The Bullingdon was to put it lightly – the temperature mixed with the dark Country licks made us feel like we were in a Texan sports bar watching some authentic Dixie music.
The band were on fire and both Lera and Joshua provided inspiring playing, tones, and cool-as-hell guitars! Lera played a white SG most of the evening which matched her all-white attire. She was also playing a very cool 3 pickup semi acoustic which gave a dark, brooding tone. Joshua used a Gretsch Duo Jet and a gold Thinline Telecaster which covered the ground from Country picking to ethereal arpeggios.The dedication to good tone was evident – Joshua has produced Lera’s latest release, Resistor, and the studio-quality sounds from Joshua and Lera’s guitars added to the sense of class and professionalism on stage.
We chatted to the guys backstage after the show and Joshua let us know what he thinks about his Cali76-TX.”The Cali76 is the best sounding compressor pedal. It sounds exactly like an 1176 rack compressor but in pedal form!”
